you need to talk to alakazam, one day he will tell you of strange things and asks you to solve them, then select yes and go to the 3 birds.
they will make an item so you can go to the silver trench.
but first you maybe need to beat ho-oh, raikou, suicine, entei and latias+latios...

i do't know sure anymore because it was 1 year ago but i thought you need to get the birds, train yourself to high levels and wait for latios+latias.
and for ho-oh:
the same but one day a spinde will appear and give you a feather.
go to xatu and he says something
then you need to have surf and you can go to the three fields where you need to battle raikou entei and suicine one for one the feather will change if you beat them.
if it's a rainbow go to xatu again and you'll get entrancetoho-oh

3.deoxys and groundon and those kind of legendaries have eaither - recruit rates or .01 recruit rates ( HARD )
4. All Hm's ( except dive ) can be found in dungeons
5. Party size is the maximum of 6. you find out your pokemons size by its summary.
* nobody can join if its too big ( the birds have a size of 4 )

... you are really stupid.. 2huge apples is just enough.. each fills 100pts of pokemon's tummy, and you still can put in useful items such as reviver seed, friend bow, x-ray specs(i would recommend these)..and the rest of the space you can use it for picking items in the dungeon, some items are really useful such as stairs orb and luminous orb..

You need to enter again to each bird's resoective dungeon, but entering alone. That's the only way to reach the top after the credits roll!

after you beat Rayquaza you can go back and fight them and they might join yur rescue team. here is what needs to happen:
*you have to be a higher leve than it
*you have to deal the last hit rather than yur teamates
*the pokemon must be on a sqare touching the square you are in.
you still are not guarrenteed to get it to join you.

Friend Bow isn't too necessary... you need to have the Music Box and the Rock Part in your Toolbox when you fight Regirock. The same with the other Regis (Music Box and the respective Part).

Hey, Randomdrifter! Actually, you did not need to battle Deoxys so many times if the pokemon you sent is very, very high in level. According to the guide book, Deoxys will only join your team if the pokemon that defeats it is at a extremely high level.

I got Kyogre on the first try cuz my skitty knew attacks super effective on him and ate enough gummies over the entire game to have an I.Q. of six stars or more. (I started as Skitty. To get skitty, you have to get a Hasty type girl from the quiz. Skitty is uber starter cuz it learns Double Slap, which hits multiple times. Multi hitters are really helpful with the lengendaries.)

Its NOT easy.
I have to repeat the level 4-5 times for those Legendaries that do not have a high recruit rate. Deoxys and Groudon both nearly drove me mad. The only reason why it seems easy here is because I showed my successful capture.

Yeah, to get Lugia I leveled up my Venusaur, Fushigi, to lvl98 or so just cause it took that much stamina to make it through the silver trench for me.
Nowadays my Hawke(a Lugia) can clear his old dungeon from level 60 up.
I still haven't convinced Deoxys or Mew to join me yet though but most others are on the team.
Missing: Celebi, Mew, Deoxys, Jirachi, and Raikou.

i done it level 56. lugia is a disopointment level 30 knowing 3 moves.when you fight he as at least 709hp if you are hoping to challenge him.i know because i hit a fly 2nd turn (1st turn i flew up high) and hit a 709 but he did not die (he has 165hp when you get him)

Was your party size over 2?
Lugia has a size of 4, and Pokemon like Charizard has a size of 1. Party Limit is size 6, so if your party size is larger than size 2, Lugia CANNOT join your tem.

Yep. For a Pokemon to be recruited, the party leader, aka the player, has to land the finishing blow.

I fed him a lotta gummies harvested from Uproar Forest. Not the fastest way to up his brains, but at least per Gummi gives a random stat a boost of 1 =D
